WORSHIP STYLE:

Our Lutheran Theology of Worship is both ancient and modern, both traditional and contemporary, both evangelical and liturgical.

It is both ancient and modern, because the traditions passed down through the ages by the church transcend time and space. What was practiced then is still important and practiced today.

Ancient, because we are not baptized into the body of Christ which only occurred in our present age, but into the body of Christ to which all believers have been baptized into since Christ’s death, resurrection and ascension!

Modern, because we worship in this age as the true Church has always worshiped, which has continued unchanging through the ages, because God Himself does not change.

Traditional, because we hold to the traditions of the Church passed down, not as ordinances of man which have no substance but, all that promotes, supports and defends Scripture, the Gospel and all its doctrines within the Divine Service.

Contemporary, because all that we receive from God is for the here and now of the lives of His redeemed people which affect their lives both now and eternally.

Evangelical, because the gospel-centered message of Christ crucified for sinners is what changes hearts and resurrects us to new life.

Liturgical, because in these ceremonies, what has always been taught by God’s faithful is continued to be passed down and taught through these same ceremonies and liturgies today.

God be praised!

Our worship illuminates what we believe, teach and confess that Scripture declares about Jesus Christ!
He gives and we receive. Then we give thanks for all that He has done to rescue us from sin, death and devil.

This is our order of our worship. This is the purpose we come to Divine Service every Sunday—to receive Christ’s gifts of forgiveness, life and salvation in Word and Sacrament. For where there is the forgiveness of sins, there is also life and salvation.
