Rev. Tanner Sutcliffe –
Tanner Sutcliffe was called fresh out of seminary to be our pastor and was ordained and installed here August of 2025. He is 28 and comes from Phoenix, Arizona, so the South Dakota winter excites him. He was not raised Lutheran – the Lord brought him into the LCMS later in life through the study of Scripture – but having missed growing up with it, he has a passion for our theology and our history and would love to talk your ear off about either if you give him the chance.
Tanner married the lovely Caelin Smith on November 23, 2024 in Texas and have had a wonderful first year together. Caelin is a pediatrician completing her residency at Sanford Children’s Hospital (The Castle) in Sioux Falls. Together they enjoy board games, national parks, and lively dinners with others.
Pastor Tanner loves to meet with people and has a strong desire to serve, so feel free to drop by and see him throughout the week. We are most thankful to the Lord for hearing our prayers to bring a pastor to this his flock in Tea. To Father, Son and Holy Spirit be all the glory!
